NT camps with million-dollar views

We list some of the top parks in the Northern Territory where you can enjoy spectacular outlooks – from towering escarpments to serene outback retreats, we’ll show you where you can get the best (BYO) seats in the house.

Glen Helen, West Macdonnell Ranges

The only accommodation within the Tjoritja-West MacDonnell Ranges National Park, Glen Helen will immerse you in the 800-million-year-old landscape that has been home to the Western Aranda Aboriginal people for tens of thousands of years. Located 130km west of Alice Springs, it has breath taking views of the nearby escarpment and is close to the picturesque Glen Helen Gorge – believed by Aboriginal elders to be the birthplace of the powerful Rainbow Serpent. It’s an ideal place to soak up the culture, and marvel at the imposing sandstone walls and views of nearby Mount Sonder.
