How did Altech UEC get their origins? Were they always Australian owned?

Altech UEC was originally a South African company that supplied satellite receivers to brands such as Multichoice, Foxtel, Austar and Optus. My business partner, Russel Futter, was the Managing Director of Altech UEC Australia until 2015 when the South African owners decided to close all international operations. 

Russel and I were two of the original founders of UEC Technologies, which then became Altech UEC, and which is now an Australian owned brand.

What would you say Altech UEC is most known for in the industry that sets you apart from others? Is there something that you would attribute the success of Altech UEC to?

Altech UEC was mostly an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of Foxtel, Austar and Optus satellite receivers and has been known in the industry for its cutting-edge technology, innovation, reliability and excellent after sales support for both businesses and consumers.

As a business, we have a strong, inspirational leadership team, well trained and dedicated staff for customer support and well respected and reliable technology and manufacturing partners. 

Is there a product you have found sells the best among consumers for their RVs?

The Altech DSD4921RV Vast Satellite Receiver is one product consumers will find in many units with its front panel display, HDMI cable and program guide.

Our Altech UEC Halo Satellite Dish sells well too as it’s easy to use and has one touch operation.

As a trusted manufacturer, how are Altech UEC’s products tested? Does the company have any accreditations?

Our products are tested in a certified laboratory to be fully compliant with Australian Safety and ACMA certification requirements. Along with that, Optus also conduct extensive field trials and testing prior to each release and approve our products for use on the vast satellite platform so customers can be rest assured that they will have signal and range throughout Australia.

What piece of advice would you give first-time and experienced buyers when purchasing products?

We recommend all customers do their research about the company they buy from as well as ensure that the company is there to support them with dedicated call centres and capable, friendly staff.
